COURSE TITLE: S-130 Basic Wildland Firefighter Training
DATES: Classroom – July 18, 20, 25, 27 – 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Field Day – July 29, – 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

COURSE COORDINATOR: Douglas Miner
COURSE DESCRIPTION: The intent of this course is to train new firefighters in basic wildland firefighting skills. This includes a required field exercise that may be arduous in nature.
TRAINEE PREREQUISITES: Students are required to complete the following NWCG online training courses; S-190 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior and L-180 Human Factors on the Fireline. These online courses are available at the NWCG Wildland Fire Learning Portal: https://wildlandfirelearningportal.net/ Create your training account and student profile first before starting the online courses in order to track your progress and to obtain a certificate of completion. Upon completion of the NWCG S-190 and L-180 online courses, students are required to email the certificates of completion to the course coordinator prior to the first day of class for the in-person S-130 course.
TUITION: No cost
NOMINATION PROCESS:
- Nomination forms will be accepted until 4:00pm on June 30, 2023. When the course is full, this information will be noted next to the announcement posted on the agency website at: https://www.nh.gov/nhdfl/community/fire-warden-information/wildland-fire-training.htm
- Priority is on a first-come, first-served basis and all candidates will receive an email reply with their final nomination status as soon as possible and no later than July 7, 2023.
